St Mary’s Parish Church, Shalford (pictured below)
is a beautiful venue for concerts, art exhibitions, performance, regular community groups, coffee mornings, toddler groups, yoga, pilates, and more – as well as a wonderful light sacred space just to be, find rest, peace, prayer, and of course to join in all the worship and community activities of St Mary’s parish church. The church offers a wonderfully flexible space, with 240 moveable chairs, heated stone floor, new AV system with large drop-down screen and high quality sound and live-streaming equipment, high spec flexible lighting system, balcony, digital organ, upright piano, 2 side chapels, coffee machines & self-service Pilgrim cafe table area, kitchen and toilet facilities, and ample parking at the back of the church. We would be delighted to discuss with you hire of the church space for regular or one-off use. The church is much used as an active parish church and there is no church hall (Peasmarsh has the parish’s church hall), but we will do all we can to accommodate your/your group’s needs if we can. St Mary’s Church is open everyday in daylight hours for anybody to visit and find peace in this sacred space.
St Michael’s Church, Peasmarsh (pictured below)
is a little gem! With its origins as a Mission Room erected in the 1890s, St Michael’s church has wooden interior with fixed school-bench like seating, basic facilities, corrugated iron roof. Lovingly cared for by the people of Peasmarsh for decades. The hall (details below), sits next to the church. Both are within a grassed area with a little woodland, in the heart of Peasmarsh.
St Michael’s Peasmarsh Hall (pictured below)
is a wonderful hall to hire for adult and children’s groups, creative arts sessions or displays, games (there is a table tennis table and snooker table in situ, and children’s toys being sought), smaller concerts and performances, and is also available for private parties and functions. The hall is entirely wooden and has wonderful character. Following recent restoration in 2022, there is new ceiling insulation and new electric heating system, new lighting including dimmers, new sets of doors, rewired and updated electrics. The hall has a small stage area, good working kitchen and toilets. Parking is limited, though during the day there is usually plenty of space around the quiet roads nearby.
